This policy explains how Appco Construction & Renovation Sdn Bhd (“Appco”, “we”, “us”), company registration 202101236784 (1417893-D), handles personal data collected through appco.help and in the course of our renovation and construction work. We process personal data in line with the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
1. What We Collect
We only collect what a construction business genuinely needs:
- Enquiry details — your name, email address, phone number and project description when you submit our contact form, call us or message us.
- Project information — property addresses, floor plans, photographs of your premises and access arrangements, once you engage us.
- Billing records — invoicing details and payment history required by Malaysian tax and company law.
- Website usage — limited technical data via cookies, described separately in our Cookie Policy.
2. Why We Collect It
We use your data to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, schedule site visits, perform contracted works, issue invoices and warranty documents, and meet legal record-keeping obligations. We do not sell personal data, and we do not send marketing blasts — if we ever contact you after a project, it is about your project.
3. Who We Share It With
Access to your data is limited to Appco staff who need it for your job. We share necessary details with third parties only where the work requires it: subcontracted specialists (for example, a certified wireman attending your site needs the address), local authorities where permit applications demand owner information, and our accounting firm for statutory filings. Each of these receives the minimum required and nothing more.
4. How Long We Keep It
Enquiry data that does not become a project is deleted within 12 months. Project and billing records are kept for 7 years to satisfy warranty commitments and the Companies Act 2016, then securely destroyed.
5. How We Protect It
Records are stored in access-controlled systems available only to authorised staff. Paper documents such as signed contracts are kept in locked storage at our registered office. Site photographs of your home are never used in our portfolio or on this website without your written consent.
6. Your Rights
Under the PDPA you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to further processing (subject to contractual and legal limits). 7. Changes To This Policy
If we change this policy, the new version appears on this page with an updated date. Material changes affecting active clients will also be notified by email.
