Construction is a service, not a boxed product, so “returns” work differently here than in a shop. This page sets out plainly how cancellations, deposits, materials and refunds are handled by Appco Construction & Renovation Sdn Bhd. Where a signed contract states otherwise, the contract prevails.
Cancelling Before Work Starts
You may cancel a signed quotation at any time before mobilisation. Your deposit is refunded less costs we have genuinely incurred by that point — typically design time already delivered and any custom materials already ordered. We itemise those deductions with receipts; we do not apply flat “cancellation fees”.
Cancelling Mid-Project
If a project must stop partway (a property sale falls through, circumstances change), you pay for work completed and materials committed up to the stop date, assessed against the itemised quotation. Anything paid beyond that is refunded within 14 days of the joint site assessment. Completed stages remain covered by our workmanship warranty.
Materials: Returns And Substitutions
- Unused standard materials (tiles, fittings, paint in unopened stock) purchased under your contract are returned to suppliers where their policies allow, and the credit passed to you in full.
- Custom and cut items — made-to-measure carpentry, cut worktops, mixed paint colours, special-order sanitary ware — cannot be returned once fabrication or cutting has begun.
- Substitutions: if a specified material becomes unavailable, we propose an equivalent at the same line-item price for your written approval, or refund the difference if you choose a cheaper alternative.
Defects And Rework
Work that fails our own standard or the agreed specification is redone at our cost — that is not a refund matter, it is the job. During the 12-month warranty, defects in our workmanship are corrected free of charge; where correction is impractical, we agree a fair price reduction instead.
Design-Only Engagements
Design fees are staged: survey, concept, and final documentation. You may stop after any completed stage and pay only for stages delivered. Completed design stages are not refundable once issued, since the drawings remain yours to use.
How Refunds Are Paid
Refunds go back by bank transfer to the account that made the original payment, within 14 days of the amount being agreed, with a statement showing how it was calculated.
Disagreements
If you believe an amount is wrong, email [email protected] with the project reference. The director reviews every refund dispute personally and replies within 7 working days.
